Youtube and Music

I have recently come to the conclusion You Tube is great. Now I always thought is was a awesome way to watch drunk people fall, stupid people hit them self, or even a talking dog. The reason for my recent excitement is the musician factor. By this I mean people have a easy venue to display their music. But my favorite element of the site is that many users have posted instructional videos on technique for instruments and songs. For this I thank You Tube and so should all musicians.here's a video my friend matt shot

Matt's gaming review

The following blog under this post is my good friend Matt. He knows what he is talking about and will be from time to time posting game reviews when he get the time away from his gamer blog . Thanks Matt Excellent job . http://aimlessgames.blogspot.com/

Starcraft Awesomeness

I'm sure most gamers have played Starcraft and know it rules hard. Some (especially in Korea) are still playing it fiendishly. Well, a new Starcraft is coming out soon(-ish)! This is sick news!. A bunch of the gang are brushing up for the release by playing each other over the LAN and doing up the campaigns from the original and the expansion. I am sucked right back into it even though I have thoroughly beat it many times and multiplayer-ed a lot of my childhood away, it stands the test of time. check out Aimless games for the upcoming reviews (Savage posted his already, ha).

If you have never played it, go get it now. Its still available in some stores, even after 12 years, it's that good. Just look for the Starcraft Battle Chest, and it comes with the expansion too. Here are some screen shots from early in the expansion Protoss campaign.

I'm working on some EPIC custom levels and I wanna have an EPIC LAN party for the release of Starcraft 2. Maybe do it the day before or something. Stay tuned for more info.

Stay Hoopy,
Matt

Review on the Unearth DvD Alive From The Apocalypse

This DvD is possibly my favorite Metal DvD. Alive from the Apocalypse not only has a amazingly well shot live DvD but has hours of behind the scenes with the band telling their fans how Unearth came to be. They show all their changes throughout the bands hard fought and well earned career. The band conveys very thoroughly their rise and how the bands dedication through adversity got them where they are today. The live portion of the DvD is professional to say the least. It shows the intensity of their shows and makes you feel as if you are watching their antics first hand. The band performs spins with their guitars, beer bongs while still playing, and all well playing insainly technical music all around. By far one of my all time favorite music DvD's of all time.

Blood trails from thee

This is just a video my friend shot of me while I was at his house just playing not a professional recording what so ever that's that.

Common Ground

A Band By the name of On Burning Shores has a song called Common Ground. At each show before they Play this song The lead singer Mike Bacon does a small introduction. This intro includes a speech telling what the meaning of Common ground is. He speaks of the Band making the song for everyone, meaning that no matter what you listen to metal, hardcore, punk, rock,or even hip hop when you come to a show its all about people gathering to see music. This is what is the meaning of Common Ground. I am a Friend of the Band but besides that I feel that there isn't enough bands out there that are tolerant and accepting as OBS(On Burning Shores). People tend to smash others views on music if they aren't their own. This is why I think OBS's song is great because there band believes everyone should have their own choice and respect them for that. So mad props to OBS and keep killin those shows boys. This is a Link to OBS's Myspace http://www.myspace.com/onburningshores

Cold and silent

As a salt truck driver in Canada I would be on shifts that would take me well through the night. There are a lot of times and events that help people find peace, but for me there is nothing as peaceful as standing outside my salt truck in a empty lot. When there is no sound and it's cold and crisp out. I don't know what it is about standing by myself in that lot, but it feels like the stress of my everyday life just falls away at least for a few moments. I would sit and play guitar and feel great. I am a night owl always have been I find peace without all the people and sounds of everybody scurrying around.

Guitars I can personally recommend

Epiphone Les Paul-Zack's edition
B.C. Rich Beast-very nice tone

Minor Pentatonic scale In The Key Of A (for you guitar players out there)

I have posted these positions of the A minor pentatonic scale for guitarist that do not know where all the positions on the fret board this scale can be played. This is very helpful in finding new melodies because of the difference in the fingering it makes it easier to find new note patterns. If you do not know how to read tab the top line is your high E and the bottom line is your low E. So from bottom to top its low E-A-D-G-B-E. The numbers represent the fret to be played on the corresponding string. Have fun and enjoy hope this will help in the road to soloing.

Position 1 / 5th fret

Friends of mine

On this blog you will notice from time to time my friends Matt,Marie, and Sik adding their own input on their own subjects they are very smart and have great info on what they discuss so check out their insights and enjoy

Start em' young

I am a firm believer in starting children up on music as young as possible I say this from experience. I started playing guitar when I was 14 years old, and have been playing ever since. It is by far the most rewarding thing to be able to play music when ever you want or need to. The reason I speak of this is because children are like a sponge, as they grow the ability to just take in the info without bad habits forming becomes harder and harder. So if you were to start introducing musical instruments in your child's life they will eternally thank you believe me. The key is to give them the choice of what instrument they would like to play. The best part of playing music is that it is a window to your soul and sometimes a way to heal it.

Taking time to figure it out

Taking time to figure out what you need in life is one of the keys too life itself. Now there is a difference between what you need and what you want. The reason I mention this is you must know what you need to get what you want. Most people don't take the enough time out of their busy day to day life to figure out what they actually want to do for the rest of their life. What ends up happening to most, is while we are trying to come up with a game plan for the best individual path we get stuck in a dead end job and the bills tend to catch up to us. The key to keeping you time maximized for making your game plan is to stay as debut free as possible. The reason for this is simple, debut is what causes us to settle out of necessity. In some situations this can not be avoided but in most it just comes down to our wants out waying our needs. If credit is not allowed to control us we do not live outside of our needs. It's all too easy now a days to take the free money offered to us, but its not free its a trap. Interest is the way banks and credit companies make their money now. Once your in their trap its very hard to get out, self control is the key to regaining your freedom. So the way too keep your life in your hands is to stay within your needs not your wants.
