Big Bop/Reverb

This post is for the Big Bop/Reverb. This is a venue that is located in the heart of Toronto Ontario. The Big Bop started in 1985 as a DJ nightclub back when the Entertainment District had not been developed yet. But by the time Richmond Street super-clubs were up and running in 1993, the venue fell on hard times. Dominic bought the building in 1996 and decided to turn it into a live music hall consisting of three venues: Kathedral, Reverb & Holy Joes. There is not a huge amount of metal/hard rock venues in Toronto but there is a few The Reverb/Big Bop is one of the oldest and most well known. One of the main reasons it's so popular despite its grungy exterior is it's welcoming of almost any local band. In fact on Thursday Jan 7th I saw what was probably the last show I will ever see there with On Burning Shores,ADF,Ceaderdale and so on who Iam friends with. This is a venue which allows almost any band to play and throws great compilation shows. Some may think this is a bad thing by many bad and rough around the edges bands playing. This is not the case many bands start playing here and become huge. For instance in '98 I saw the first ever Canadian show by InFlames at this venue. Go figure eh. The Reverb is a iconic place in Toronto in which all of it's residence weather they want to admit it or not will miss it greatly.
Thanks for the memories. Rest in peace Reverb 1985-2010
